Oak Openings Metropark Engagement Photos at “The Spot” in Toledo, Ohio
If you’re a photographer, you can’t go wrong shooting at Oak Openings Preserve Metropark in Swanton and Whitehouse, Ohio. Besides the gorgeous and well preserved nature that provides endless photography backdrops, it was a special place for Shailyn & Adam’s engagement pictures because they frequently visit the park. This shoot was SO much fun. Getting to know this chill couple was such a treat.
The best part about it? Their kids tagged along too.
Like all our sessions, we wanted to personalize this engagement shoot. What better way to do so than including the biggest part of their lives? The love between these six was obvious as we were blasting Beyonce and dancing through Oak Opening’s red pines at “The Spot”. It was clear how much fun this couple has on the daily, and it made photographing them an ease.
What really wrapped the bow on their relationship was the way Adam proposed. They started off the day Christmas shopping. Adam had been planning the engagement and told Shailyn to hurry back to his sister’s rented villa for game night, where he was going to be waiting with flowers and a Scrabble board spelling out “Will you marry me?” (She loves Scrabble!). Shailyn ended up making it to the villa too fast and when she got there they had just started playing a new game. Adam’s sister came up with a quick plan. She was ‘reading the directions’ and said, “now Adam you need to get down on one knee”. Shailyn starting freaking out when she realized what was happening, and the rest is history in the making.
The words Shailyn & Adam use to describe their relationship are Adventurous. Thrifty. Exciting. Loving. Fun…. and we certainly felt that at their Oak Openings engagement photo shoot. Again, coming back home to Toledo Metroparks never disappoints when you get to meet such inspiring people at such an adventurous location that perfectly matches this couple.
