At this fall Oak Openings photoshoot with Saul and Paige, there was never a dull moment. During the entire session, we were laughing our booties off while exploring the colorful Toledo Metropark in Whitehouse, Ohio. On their first date, they went mudding with ATVs. (how fun?!) Afterward, they went to a friend’s house but as they were leaving, Saul’s car broke down.. and they had to push it back an entire mile. As they were pushing the car, they peaked the attention of a local police cruiser and were followed all the way back to their pal’s place. Paige ended up finding another ride home.
This beautiful rose and white wedding at The Beach House on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina was seriously gorgeous. Not only was it a dream wedding come true, but Kassie and Travis are pretty much the perfect couple. We had a blast leading their wedding photography and video. The way they truly enhance each other and push each other to achieve their goals is inspiring. All the while, they are having the time of their lives - and we made sure their wedding photos and video captured it.
Nestled in the heart of the farmland surrounding Elmore, Ohio lies Schedel Arboretum and Gardens. The moment we stepped foot on the premises, our jaws dropped. Acres of blooming greenery, bold flowers, and unique sculpture art cover the grounds, and it’s nearly impossible to find a spot that wouldn’t make an incredible backdrop for wedding photography and videography. We could seriously spend days shooting there and still find new, gorgeous spots for photos. It is 110% more than worth the trip!
As the yellow light leaked through the stained glass windows, Ashley was putting in her earrings and soaking it in. It was at this moment that I knew this wedding video was going to be lit. As a videographer, sometimes behind the camera you loose your breathe and squeal because you know you’re creating something amazing. Ashley and Landon perfect day at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, Ohio and the Stranahan Theater in Maumee, Ohio (with a pit stop at Oak Openings Preserve Metropark in Swanton, Ohio) was full of these heart stopping moments.
It’s so exciting to do engagement photography sessions with a couple and then do their wedding photography 9 months later. A lot can change in those few months - for Kyleigh and Clay it was the size of their beautiful baby girl and the size of their love. Even on their wedding day, they put their child’s need above everything - and it really got us in the feels. And how they met? Clay basically saw her and pursued her until he won her heart. What girl doesn’t want that story?!
July 13, 2019 was picture-perfect for a wedding. The golden sun was shining bright, the Ohio greens were in full bloom, and St. Richards Church in Swanton, Ohio seemed to glow with simple elegance. No matter how far from our location, we will arrive at a wedding far earlier than we are scheduled to be there. During this time, we’ll simply walk the grounds and draw inspiration for the day. Our note pad (on our phone, of course, hehe) will fill with ideas for backdrops and photoshoot locations so we can seamlessly transition from place to place during your wedding photography or videography.
Shooting wedding photography at Toledo Side Cut Metropark is an absolute dream. There are so many beautiful backdrops and amazing colors to play off of. Lindsey & Kevin had a gorgeous wedding photography opportunity and we snatched it up! We can’t get enough of this beautiful family.
Northwest Ohio is full of versatile wedding venues including the Williams County Fairgrounds in Montpelier, Ohio. The ceremony was underneath a unique rustic bridge with a beautiful floral arch. Once the ceremony ended, everyone rode around on the party bus (SO MUCH FUN). We stopped at George Bible Park in Bryan, Ohio to take more wedding pictures. Then, we headed to the Gillette Building at the Williams County Fairgrounds for their reception.
Picture this: You’re at Keystone Ski Resort in Colorado on top of a mountain with the love of your life. You’re bundled up looking at the beautiful view. The next thing you know, there’s a ring at your knees. Sound perfect? Cameron’s proposal to Olivia sure was! We wanted this couple’s engagement photography to reflect their adventurous spirits, so we went out to Oak Openings Metropark Reserve to frolic in the woods!
If you’re a photographer, you can’t go wrong shooting at Oak Openings Preserve Metropark in Swanton and Whitehouse, Ohio. Besides the gorgeous and well preserved nature that provides endless photography backdrops, it was a special place for Shailyn & Adam’s engagement pictures because they frequently visit the park. This shoot was SO much fun.
When we were interviewing Landon in City Tap in Bowling Green, Ohio, we asked him what his favorite thing about Ashley was. He said, “One of my favorite things is her drive. When she has an idea in her mind she is going to make it happen no matter what is standing in her way. She’s going to do it.” One of his examples was this engagement video.
Nina and Les braced the -3-degree weather to get their gorgeous, river and forest engagement photos at Providence Metropark in Grand Rapids, Ohio and Oak Openings Preserve in Whitehouse, Ohio. Overlooking the scenic damn on the Maumee River during a crisp and foggy winter morning, these two were an engagement photographer’s dream!
Our couples photo shoot at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve in Perrysburg, Ohio was so breathtaking and serene. Their love is inspiring - how comfortable they are holding each other, posing in front of the camera, and how solid of a friendship they have built. They have truly made something to last. Ugh! I’m o b s e s s e d!
Crystal came to us with a nightmare situation - her wedding photographer backed out. After taking a brief moment to freak out with her (it was seriously only a few weeks before the wedding!), we assured her we would make the trek, and make it work. Let me tell you - we made it freaking work! We couldn’t be happier with the results. The ceremony was serene, the church was well lit, and the weather was gorgeous - a picture perfect recipe for amazing wedding photography.
While we are first traveling photographers, we’ll always be thrifters. We love looking for the perfect steal & finding unique pieces amongst piles of other’s “junk”. It’s cathartic in some way. Knowing there is a story behind every item, and being able to give it a new tale is well.. telling. We were at Goodwill in Whitehouse, Ohio recently & noticed a long, sexy, red dress sandwiched between some jean jackets ready to be placed on the rack. It immediately piqued our interest. When we saw it was still brand new with tags, we knew we had to photograph it. Just like that, we began planning a styled photoshoot based around this dress!
Chloe & Zach had the most heartwarming speeches during their wedding and reception at The Armory in Napoleon, Ohio. There’s something about writing your own vows and being able to play them back over wedding videography that pulls at our heart strings SO HARD. But what really touched us was that Chloe’s vows and her sister Paige’s speech started off with the same sentence. It involved their dad saying to each of them “the only thing you deserve in life is everything”. Followed by the both of them stating that Chloe found everything she had been looking for when she met Zach.
Jess is someone we cherish here at Vibe Garden because we grew up together. Getting to be her wedding videographer at The Armory in Napoleon, Ohio was such a treat, and a true cherry on the top of our friendship. Growing up, the best was always wished for Jess. After hearing Nate’s wedding vows, we knew that she got everything she deserves. As he “promised to fill your days with the laugher and joy you bring me. I’ll support you through all your endeavors: career, scholastic, otherwise. I’ll hold you every night, and make your coffee first every morning”. Did he just say coffee? He definitely won our hearts!
It was an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding videographer. This was an exceptionally fun wedding for us to shoot due to the fact that we all had known each other from high school. Watching Mara & Slayde grow up as individuals and as a couple was so comforting come their wedding day. It really made us sit back and have all the hope in the world for finding that special someone (the fairytale ending DOES exist!)
